Minnesota Association of Townships Scholarship Program: 

Scholarship amount: Up to five $2,000 scholarships

Details/Criteria: All students currently enrolled in the 11th grade and attending a Minnesota public, private, or parochial high school, or a home-study program are eligible. Application requires a written essay on the topic of the role of townships in local government. Students must also submit a current high school transcript and a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor.

Joe Krage Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship amount: two $500 scholarships

Details/Criteria: The family of Joe Krage is offering scholarships to two students who are community minded. This will be awarded following the successful completion of the students’ first semester of college. Preference will be given to students pursuing a career in emergency services (police, fire, paramedic, medical field) or agriculture.

Bluff County Hidden Heroes Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: Not specified

Details/Criteria: Applications are open to current graduating High School Seniors who attended a High School or live in Houston, Winona, or Fillmore Counties in MN, who wish to pursue a degree in Law Enforcement, EMS, Firefighting, Human Services, or other fields of Public Service. Requires written essay.

Altra Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: Two $5,000 scholarships

Details/Criteria: 

  • Complete the online Banzai Teen financial education modules between 3/1/2025 and 4/25/2025

  • Complete all (3) post-tests with a score of 85% or higher

  • Be an enrolled high school student (grades 9-12), age 13+

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher

  • Be college-bound to a 2- or 4-year US college within the next 4 years (winner will need to provide proof of enrollment by 12/31/2029 to claim scholarship)

Arlin Falck Scholarship

Scholarship amount: $500-$1000

Details/Criteria: To qualify, the applicant must be industrious, conscientious, honest, cooperative, and able to finish tasks they start. The purpose of the scholarship is to reward the student who may not qualify academically for other scholarships, but who is hard-working and needs a boost to enable them to attend college or a vocational school. The recipient of the scholarship must be planning to attend college for business management, accounting, or financial planning.

Association of Women Contractors

Details: With the mission to drive equity in the construction industry, each year we offer financial support in the form of scholarships to women apprentices and students who are pursuing careers in the Minnesota construction industry.

Through these scholarships, we aim to assist recipients in affording their education, connecting with members and developing a strong support system. AWC provides three types of scholarships for outstanding women:

Paul J. Wheaton Memorial Scholarship:

Scholarship amount: $10,000

Details: The Paul J. Wheaton Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of our father. Paul was raised in the Houston area and was a 1961 graduate of Houston High School. Scholarship requires: A binder that details a student's community service project, 2 letters of recommendation, cover letter, resume, transcript and college acceptance letter. Examples of projects include:

  • Organizing a food drive or toy drive

  • Organizing a reading/mentoring program at the elementary school or pre-school

  • Organizing activities at the Library  or Valley View Nursing

  • Volunteering to teach Sunday School

  • Cemetery repair/cleanup

  • Volunteering to help the American Legion or Lions Club with their yearly activities (Christmas candy bags, hanging flags, etc)

Scholarship amount: Five $1,000 scholarships

Details/Criteria: A total of five scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who are union members or dependents of union members who are going to a 4 year college or community college in Minnesota.

BrandSource Scholars

Scholarship amount: $12,000

Details/Criteria: Foster Love has partnered with AVB BrandSource to provide transition-aged and aging-out foster youth with a $12,000 trade scholarship for applicants pursuing America’s high-demand trades at a two-year trade school.

This scholarship provides recipients with access to workforce opportunities, career coaching, and personal development services to ensure our applicant’s long-term success. The scholarship eases the financial pressures of earning a trade degree while paving the way for a brighter future for our students.

Minnesota Builders Exchange

Scholarship amount: $500-$5,000

Details/Criteria: • Pursuing a construction-related field of study at an accredited post-secondary educational institution, be it at a trade school, a two-year technical or community college, or four-year university.

• Entering the Fall 2025 semester as a freshman, sophomore, or junior. Students completing their degree beyond the traditional four years may also be eligible to apply.

• Maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

• Possess a strong passion for the construction and building industry.

• In agreeance to attend a minimum of ONE MBEX-sponsored event during Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026. For applicants awarded a scholarship who live outside of Minnesota, further conversation will be had with MBEX staff.

• Previous scholarship recipients are more than welcome to reapply as long as they meet the scholarship criteria and are not entering their final semester of study in the Fall of 2025.

Details/Criteria: For female students with a 3.0 GPA or higher with an interest in pursuing a public finance related career in finance, government, nonprofits, banking or law; exhibit leadership skills through extracurricular activities, volunteer positions, internships and/or other work experience; essay required.

Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship

Scholarship amount: up to $1,700

Details/Criteria: The Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship is available to union member students of color or family members who are planning to or currently attend college within the Minnesota State College System (2 or 4 year college). To be eligible, a scholarship applicant must be a person of color, and a union member or be the child, grandchild, or spouse of a union member. Scholarships are awarded to both full-time and part-time students who will be attending a Minnesota State tech or community college or state university in the fall of 2025.

Minnesota Asphalt and Paving Association

MAPA will award up to 10 scholarships annually for $1,000 each Students interested in pursuing a career in road construction, construction management or asphalt industry. Student can be pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in programs such as: Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance, Construction Management, Heavy Construction Equipment, Trucking, Diesel Maintenance, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or other related degrees. Andrew A. Lindberg Memorial Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship amount: $2,000 per year renewable for up to 5 years by maintaining a 3.25 GPA and continuing to satisfy eligibility requirements.

Details/Criteria: For students who are a resident from a town with a population of 25,000 or less. Must come from an agricultural background rooted in the state of MN (ex. working on a family farm or ag service). Students must have graduated with a gpa of 3.5 or higher and be accepted to a college.

Wisconsin Biomedical Association Scholarship

The Wisconsin Biomedical Association scholarship has been established to encourage the continued growth of the biomedical field.  

Scholarship Award: The award shall be set at a maximum of $500.00.

 Presentation Date: The award will be announced during the state meeting at the annual conference.

Qualifications: High School GPA of 3.0, enrolled or in pursuit of biomedical/clinical engineering degree, or advancing profession in the healthcare field.

University of Minnesota- Principled Man Scholarship 

Offered by the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity Beta Deuteron Chapter

Scholarship amount: $500

Details/Criteria: Scholarship is being offered to incoming male freshman who will be attending U of M. They will be awarded a $500 scholarship to recognize their excellence and provide some financial assistance to meet the costs of their college education.
